My First Meme: 7 Random And/Or Weird Things About Me

I got tagged by Grandy for my very first meme: "7 random and/or weird things about me." I asked a friend to help me out with this, because most of the things that occurred to me were things I'd already told you all, or things I didn't want to tell you! Lol!

Since it's difficult for me to list 7 random or weird things without explaining the stories behind them, I'm going to do my meme a bit differently. I'll list my answers here, then expand on them over the next few days (Yes, it's another multiple part post! ;) )

I'm also not going to tag people for this because I am the dead end of all chain type letters (Actually that's a good random thing about me. That'll be number one!) However, if you are one of the last blogs on Earth who has not had this meme yet, and you'd like to do it, consider yourself tagged. If you decide to do the meme, link back here and let me know in the comments, and I'll list you as one of my "tagged" people at the end of this post (Which will probably drive some extra traffic to your site. -Didn't think about that did ya? ;) )

The Rules
  • Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
  • Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
  • Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
  • Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

My list of 7 random and/or weird things about me
(To be explained in greater detail over the next few days)
  1. I won't continue any kind of chain letter or "chain email." (Except for one time that involved socks...)
  2. I stopped taking riflery at camp when I was 12 because I was afraid I'd get drafted.
  3. If I listen to a song 3 times, I know about 95% of it perfectly. Lyrics and music.
  4. My friend's suggestion: "You slept in your car with a squirrel."
  5. My father looks like Patrick Stewart. (Another of my friend's suggestions.)
  6. I was 11 years old the first time I saved someone's life. (That I know of.)
  7. I once made a cake in the shape of two large breasts. (Also my friend's suggestion.)

My List Of 7 Voluntarily Tagged People

(Your link could be here! Let me know if you take up the challenge!)
  1. Rebecca at Sunspotting
  2. MP at mysecondjournal
  3. Kendra at A Thousand Words
  4. 4 more volunteer spots!
  5. You know you want to volunteer!
  6. [Your Name Here]
  7. [Or Here. Heck you can even pick which spot you want! :) ]

I Am Thankful That This Is The Last Day Of NaBloPoMo!

Yatta! I survived NaBloPoMo 2007!

Don't get me wrong. I am thankful for NaBloPoMo! NaBloPoMo kick-started my blog and got me to start writing and posting my entries (instead of just saving them to my hard drive!) so I am grateful that Eden had the insane idea to create a month like this, and also that I was able to find out about it, join up, and actually post every single day for the month of November. Not to mention also fulfilling my quota of posts for 30 Days Of Thanks.

But now that this is all over, I'm looking forward to blogging at a more leisurely pace. And yes, I do think that I will continue blogging in some form or another. At the very least you know I'll be posting tomorrow because I already told you I would! :)

PS: Feel free to grab the badge! And leave a comment and say "hi!" if you do! (Code for the badge is here.)

I Am Thankful For NaBloPoMo

...because lemme tell ya, having officially reached the "halfway point" today, I can absolutely guarantee you that without NaBloPoMo there is no freaking way I would have been posting EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 2 weeks!

Seriously though, this was the right way to start doing this blog. Wish me luck for the 2nd half! (And good luck to all of you too!)

I Am Thankful For Hillary!

-Because Hillary wrote my very first comment on this blog AND she "friended" me on NaBloPoMo so I no longer have to see "You have no friends" on my profile page! She's also freakishly happy and functional and a lot of fun to read about on her blog. (Unless you don't like freakishly happy and functional people... in which case her blog would be a real drag!)

NaBloPoMo

Ok, so here's the thing... I've been writing plenty. But what I haven't been doing is posting! Part of that is because I haven't finished the blog layout, part of that is because I rarely, if ever, share anything personal on the Internet and it's an awkward step for me to take. So I figured I'd jump in with both feet and give this a try for real during NaBloPoMo.

Qu'est-ce Que C'est NaBloPoMo?

NaBloPoMo is short for National Blog Posting Month. In order to participate in NaBloPoMo you need to have a blog, sign up, and then pledge to post every single day in November. I'm taking the plunge (and at the end of the month I'll see if this whole "blog thing" is really for me!)

Oh, and by the way, if I'm going to post something EVERY single day in November, I expect you folks to comment gosh darn it!

Here we go!

What's in a [Blog] Name?

The blog title and quote are from a Beatles song called "Dear Prudence" from The White Album. I've always loved the lyrics to this song, but the music... let's just say it adds another dynamic to the words that I'm not nearly as fond of! Luckily, this isn't a musical blog, so you can just read the words without the music and leave it at that! :)

I'll probably change the title of this blog someday but for now, this is what we've got!

Dear Prudence

Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?

Dear Prudence, open up your eyes
Dear Prudence, see the sunny skies
The wind is low the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence, won't you open up your eyes?

Look around round
Look around round round
Look around

Dear Prudence, let me see you smile
Dear Prudence, like a little child
The clouds will be a daisy chain
So let me see you smile again
Dear Prudence, won't you let me see you smile?

Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?

For Everyone

For everyone who has been asking me to write a blog. This is for you.
